About me
I am a 27 year old designer, currently located in Rotterdam.
Apart from interaction design I have many hobbies, most related to graphic design and fashion. On this page I would like to show you a couple of examples of what I do in my free time.
_____SCREEN PRINTING_____
In the weekends you can often find me in a screen printing studio. I love illustration and making graphics, screen printing is a very hands-on way of putting these designs on something tangible.
Through screen printing I try to explore and develop my own graphical style. Furthermore I enjoy the experimental freedom working with ink gives you and like to make personalized presents for my friends.
I have also created a series of social media posts for Delft University of Technology to show the process of screen printing and inspire students to visit the screen printing facilities of the university.
_____ILLUSTRATION_____
I love illustration and one of my favorite activities is working on my iPad in Procreate.
Here is a series of illustrations I made to visualize my favourite poem: One Art by Elizabeth Bischop.
Apart from illustration I also like making simple animations in Procreate and discovering new techniques.
_____LIGHTING DESIGN_____
I have a big admiration for lighting artists and designers and in my free time I often explore lighting design by creating small artworks from materials I have at home.
Through the years I also made my own library of reflective materials, lenses, light emitters and much more. Everything to try and capture those little special moments of when the light hits just right.
Experimenting with lighting design has helped me explore how to transform spaces with the help of projections and create mesmerizing and immersive experiences.
